Critical Incident Debriefing
What is a Critical Incident Debrief (CID)?
Answer: It is an aspect or a technique which falls under the umbrella of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), which is a range of tools used by trained professionals.
How is it conducted?
Answer: A trained Mental Health Worker, Wellbeing Practitioner, Counsellor, CID Practitioner will guide you through a series of steps in a guided discussion to help the trauma of the event to be reduced and normalised.
Why do we need CID?
Everyone's reactions are different. This could mean individuals might suffer varying degrees of emotional, physical and psychological symptoms that could be acute or transformed into a syndrome. CID helps to reduce these effects and evaluate your needs for extra help in specific areas of wellbeing, mental health and care.
